Emily Dykeman

Hi there! Friends call me Em, Emily or Em (iLoveYou). You’ll find me playing in the trees, dancing in the rain and relishing in every moment life gives us. Gratitude is always my first step. Not always, but the home girl tries her best. Anything arts related fills up my heart and Mother Earth is my favourite being, don’t tell my dog though.

I am currently a teacher of littles in school and bigs in life. Improv teaches me patience, trust in the community, and play prioritization. It also gave me my sexy, brilliant, quick-witted mind back after a serious concussion. Jump! Say the thing! Make the move! Just go! That’s me. Adios!!!

Favourite Performer:

Robin Williams

Favourite Improv Game:

Scenes from a Hat

Moment you knew Improv'ing was going to be a big part of your life:

The first laugh. Improv is a practice of listening, presence and spontaneity - all of which fill me up. Comedy has an ability to alchemize energy, to shake off our masks and our stresses; we connect on the ludicrousness that is this world and we feel lighter for it. I’m grateful to make people laugh while playing with so many brave and talented artists.

There are four things in life that will change you. Love, music, art and loss. The first three will keep you wild and full of passion. May you allow the last to make you brave.
